This class introduces the foundational texts that have shaped the field of design since the late 19th century, and theoretical texts by artists who address design in their works. Presentations focus on three-dimensional objects created for the mass market or interior design projects. Students must also design an object that is intended for mass production or interior decor.

Davis, Ryan Chair Design
Made through a factory process with all parts in box, buyer assembles with easy instructions. The concept behind the removable materials comes from customizability and comfort. The suspended mesh conforms to you as you sit down and your choice in style allows the chair to exist in any space and any season. What’s more is the price point; because the use of material, particularly wood, is up to 70 less than a normal modern chair of similar construction, this work is also known as the 90-dollar chair. Therefore, now, anyone can have modern customizable design in his or her homes for a nominal fee!
Dimensions: 25’’ x 55’’ x 19’’
Dark wood, and several colored materials,
Tricot mesh fabric, tightly weaved, wood, and stainless steel.
